The members of Executive Committee and Municipal Council are in charge since the local government election established on 28 March 2004.
One of the first and most important decisions taken by Kartal Municipal Council in that five terms of activity was the acceptance of a Directive regarding the Relief Fund which helps people in need. The Commission established under the Municipal Council consists of two members of the Council, Director of Registrar, Municipal Police, and Administrative Affairs. A Deputy-President took decisions regarding benefits in kind and cash.
